Quad9 is a free security solution that uses DNS to protect your systems against the most common cyber threats. You can setup Quad9 on your Mac in 4 easy steps.
On your Mac, choose the Apple menu > System Preferences, then select Network.
Click Advanced and then select the DNS tab. From the DNS tab, select the "+" symbol.
Note: If you have any other DNS providers configured, you will want to first select their servers and then select the "-" symbol to remove them before adding our service.
Enter the appropriate Quad9 IPv4 addresses for your needs. Once you have the addresses entered, select OK. We strongly suggest entering both a primary IPv4 and a secondary IPv4 address as a precaution.
For more information on which server is right for you, please visit our Quad9 IPs and Other Settings page.
Most users will want to enter 184.108.40.206 and 220.127.116.11 in the list.
Select Apply. You are now using Quad9.
